Dissolving equipment is machinery used to bring solid materials into solution in a liquid. In food and beverage plants it is most often applied to dissolving sugars, salt and other ingredients into water or other liquids to produce solutions or suspensions that feed downstream processing.
The equipment spans a wide band of sophistication, from simple manual mixers through to automated systems with precise temperature and agitation control. Which end of that range a plant needs depends on the product: batch consistency, dissolution rate and the sensitivity of the ingredient to heat and shear all bear on the specification.
Typical applications include sugar syrups for confectionery production, beverage concentrates such as fruit juice concentrates, sauces and gravies, protein and amino acid solutions for sports drinks and nutritional supplements, gelatin solutions for gummy candies and other confectionery products, starch solutions for various food applications, and flavourings and food colourings.
