Opportunity. Elven Agri Company Ltd sought to upgrade its oil extraction facility in Tanzania with a state-of-the-art HVAC system designed to meet stringent ISO Class 5 to ISO Class 9 compliance standards. The project aimed to establish a Zone 2 Level clean room environment, a critical requirement for oil extraction processes that demand precise air quality control. Given the existing building's low height and spatial limitations, the design had to be both innovative and adaptive, ensuring minimal disruption to current utilities and infrastructure.

Solution. PMG was entrusted with the engineering design for this complex project, leveraging its expertise to develop an efficient HVAC system for challenging environments. Starting with a thorough site analysis, PMG addressed constraints such as limited building height and AHU placement while designing a climate-resilient system to perform reliably in Tanzania’s coastal conditions. The HVAC system was engineered to meet ISO standards, incorporating advanced filtration and airflow strategies to achieve clean room classifications. Ducting design required precise calculations to optimize air distribution and pressure control within the existing building’s limitations. Detailed layouts ensured seamless integration with minimal impact on existing utilities. To facilitate client-led procurement, PMG prepared a comprehensive Bill of Materials and technical specifications. Despite the remote nature of the project, with design in India and implementation in Tanzania, PMG ensured success through continuous remote support and close collaboration with the client.

Outcome. PMG’s innovative design approach enabled Elven Agri Company Ltd to achieve a clean room environment compliant with ISO Class 5 to ISO Class 9 standards, setting a new benchmark for oil extraction facilities in the region. The carefully engineered HVAC system not only met the stringent air quality requirements but also addressed the unique challenges of the existing building’s spatial constraints. By adopting a climate-resilient design, the system is equipped to operate efficiently in the coastal conditions of Tanzania, ensuring reliability and longevity. PMG’s expertise in remote project execution and stakeholder management facilitated a smooth implementation process, reinforcing its reputation as a trusted partner for engineering solutions in the global food and agro-industries.
