Products of Cashew apple
PRODUCTS OF PRODUCTS OF CASHEW APPLE CASHEW APPLE Cashew apples are known as accessory fruits because they appear after cashew seeds have matured. Thus, the actual drupe or peduncle is the kidney-shaped shell enclosing the edible cashew nut found at the apple's tip. Because cashew apple is high in minerals and vitamins, particularly vitamin C and polysaccharides, protein, and fiber, it is an excellent thirst quencher and instant energy source. However, there are some drawbacks that prevent the widespread use and commercialization of cashew apples and their products, such as short shelf life, susceptibility to microbial infection, and tannin content.
