Opportunity
Britannia Industries Ltd. at Rudrapur was facing significant challenges in the oil handling operations due to manual control processes. This led to frequent issues such as oil spillage from storage tanks, inefficient monitoring, and substantial losses in production time and operational costs. Given that oil is a critical component in the production process, these inefficiencies directly affected productivity and profitability. Britannia turned to PMG for designing an automated oil handling system to streamline operations, reduce spillage, and enable real-time monitoring for better control and decision-making.
Solution
PMG delivered a comprehensive solution by automating Britannia's oil handling operations. The design included the integration of automated valves, sensors, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to precisely control oil flow and storage. The new system enabled real-time monitoring of oil levels and flow rates, preventing spillage and allowing for immediate responses to any anomalies. Key engineering documents, including P&IDs, equipment layouts, and control logic diagrams, were developed to ensure a seamless transition from manual to automated operations.
Outcome
The design of the automated oil handling system was to significantly enhance operational efficiency. Real-time monitoring and precise control minimize spillage, reduce manual intervention, and maximize production time. The design would lead to substantial cost savings and an improved ability to maintain high standards of production quality. PMG's solution streamlined the oil handling process, resulting in consistent, measurable improvements in both performance and profitability.
