Utility Cost Calculators: Steam, Water and Compressed Air
Cost of Steam, Raw Water, Soft Water, DM Water, RO Water, Waste Water Treatment and Compressed Air: what goes in, how the cost is built.
What these calculators are for
Seven calculators turn a month of running costs into a cost per unit
produced: per kg of steam, per m³ of water, or per unit of
compressed air. Each one adds up monthly power, chemical, manpower and
maintenance costs and divides by the month’s output.
All the money inputs are in rupees. Enter every quantity and cost for the
same month.
Cost of Steam
Inputs
Fuel consumption (kg or Ton per month) and
Fuel cost (Rs/kg).
Power consumption (kWh or MWh per month) and
Power cost (Rs/kWh).
Steam generation (kg or Ton per month).
Four treatment chemicals — pH booster,
Antiscalent, Oxygen scavenger and
Sodium tri sulphate — each with a monthly
quantity (kg or Ton) and a cost (Rs/kg).
Manpower cost for shifts 1 to 4, Maintenance
cost and Repair cost — Rs per
month.
How it is calculated
Each consumable is costed as quantity × rate (the monthly
cost rows). Total cost adds those to the four shift
manpower costs, maintenance and repair. Cost of steam (Rs/kg)
= total cost ÷ steam generation.
Cost of Raw Water
Inputs
Water consumption — m³ or litre pe…
