Brickwork, Plastering, Painting and Flooring — Workspace
Unplastered Half and Full Brick Wall, Cement Water Sand in Plastering, Putty Primer Paint and Flooring quantities.
What these calculators are for
Five calculators for building work: bricks and mortar for a wall, mortar for
plastering, putty, primer or paint for a wall, and the number of floor tiles
or slabs.
Unplastered Half Brick Wall
Inputs
Length of wall and Height of wall
— m, mm, cm, ft or inch.
Type of brick — Clay Bricks, Fly Ash Brick or
Hollow Bricks.
Grade of mortar — 1:3, 1:4 or 1:6.
Density of cement (default 1440) and
Density of sand (default 1920) —
kg/m³.
How it is calculated
Area of wall = length × height.
Number of bricks = area ÷ wall area per brick including its
mortar joint (0.020 m² for clay and fly ash, 0.050 m² for
hollow), rounded up to whole bricks.
The wall is one brick wide: 90 mm for clay, 110 mm
for fly ash, 150 mm for hollow bricks (shown as Thickness Of
Wall).
Volume of mortar per m² of wall = wall
thickness × the share of the wall face taken by joints —
0.013 m³/m² for clay, 0.017 for fly ash, 0.014 for hollow.
Total volume of mortar = area × that.
