Excavation, Soil Compaction and Concrete Quantities
Soil Excavation, Soil FDD and Compaction, Concrete Mix, Concrete Mix Design, Steel in RCC Structures and Concrete for Road Pavement.
What these calculators are for
Six calculators in Building and Civil Engineering for
earthwork and concrete: excavation volume for footings, field density and
compaction of soil, material quantities for nominal and designed concrete
mixes, reinforcement steel, and the quantities for a concrete road.
Soil Excavation
Inputs
Finished ground level, Natural ground
level and Bottom of footing —
reduced levels on one site datum (for example 100.00, 99.50
and 98.00), in m, mm, cm, ft or inch.
Number of footings.
Pcc thickness — 50, 75 or 100 mm.
Working space — 300, 600 or 900 mm.
Thickness of soling — 150, 230 or 250
mm.
Length of footing and Width of
footing.
How it is calculated
Depth of excavation (m) = (natural ground level
− bottom of footing) + (PCC + soling) ÷ 1000. At NGL
99.50, bottom of footing 98.00, PCC 100 mm and soling 150 mm that is
1.50 + 0.25 = 1.75 m.
Total length of excavation = footing length + (2
× PCC + 2 × working space) ÷ 1000; the width is
worked out the same way.
Total excavation volume (m³) = number of
footings &…
